The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection
Make A Wedding Planner The Best Ever
The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is set opposite the striking old Moorish-style railway station, in the area known as the historical mile of city centre. This prime position provides easy access to some of the city’s top attractions, like the National Museum, National Mosque, Lake Gardens, and Bird and Butterfly Park.
The 300-room hotel is comprised of two distinct wings: The original Majestic Wing, which echoes the art deco and neoclassical nuances of the building, and the new 15-story Tower Wing, which features a melding of contemporary and classic design. The wings are connected by a glass-enclosed walkway – a modern addition to the otherwise old-world aesthetic.
The Colonial Cafe recreates the atmosphere of the halcyon days of the planters of Malaya and offers authentic classical cuisine from the colonial era; the afternoon tea service at the Tea Lounge – named one of the top luxury tea spots in the city by Forbes; and under the gold leaf dome of the bar, where the Stengah, Gin Pahit, and Sling are the specialties of the house.
International influences abound at the restaurant Contango, where chefs prepare American, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Malay favorites from an open kitchen – with an extensive 2,000-bottle wine cellar to pair.
Reflected in the tropical Orchid Conservatory, with its seasonal range of Phalaenopsis orchids and thousands of large-petaled blooms displayed within a glass atrium where guests can enjoy afternoon tea, intimate lunches or celebratory dinners up to 20 persons in this gorgeous setting.
